Yellow and Blue :)

Well, this maybe a little late to tell you a story about my activitylast summer. It’s just sudenly i have the mood the write about it, i think because i’m missing it so much :)

So, last summer after UN and SIMAK are done i become one of the voluntary comitee off Indonesian Youth Conference created by the young and talented Alanda Kariza. Yes, she’s 19 but hell yeah she is awesome! I remember sometimes in the late 09 i send my CV to apply for joining the comitee and on January (i think) i received an email that i got accepted and i’m being interviewed. Well, the interview went (kind of) well, and weeks after that i suddenly got invited to the mailing list fo comitees, and yes that’s the sign that i’m officially in :D I was so exited back then but also feeling confuse because i still have UAN and SIMAK to concentrate about. So, until two of them done i haven’t been able to come to every meetings, i just got the updates from reading the mailing list. At that time, i’m feeling so guilty and having some thougts to quit but then i realize this may be some BIG opportunities to learn something new from new people. So i decided to stay :)

On March, IYC held a Garage Sale in Lamandau street, and there’s where i met the comitees for the first time. YES FINALLY! I’m quite shocked that most of the are still young, and there even a Junior High Student that has accomplished so much! That kid have a gift. So, i spend a day with all of them, they are the most friendly guys ever and i easily get comfortable with them. Actually at first i was quite nervous because i’m like this ghost from email that they didn’t know about, i’m scared that they will get dissapointed and all. But, the reality is they are all the best!

As the time goes by i’m becoming good friends with all of them and i can proudly call them my family. Meetings after meetings i got through with them, we bond quite a lot and we are not just co workers but family who helps each other :) O yea, i actually apply for music performance division but because they already had enough people in it i got transferred to Logistic to help Adam Hulaimie who is very kind, great but also super tempramental boss hahaha. Well at first i got scared because Logistic job ain’t easy but i actually quiet enjoy it, even though it is very very hectic and hold lots of responsibilities. But Adam, Me, and Arya handled it well yeah we rock! I got to say i put all of my energy to work on IYC. I mean i only sleep for 2 hours when we were loading all the equipments for the Festival in Salihara. It was fun and very memorable.

Joining IYC is probably the best damn thing i have ever done to fill my 3 months holiday. I found new friends that i can proudly call my family, i found someone that is now fill my days with smiles and laughter who always keeps me sane day after day in college life. I have a whole new experince in being active in a organization, i learn a lot from each and every commitees and also participants. It was an experience of a lifetime and i will never forget it not even one bit. There’s too much stories to tell. Good and bad stories. Writing this makes me miss them so much, and somehow want to do it all over again :’)

Well, that’s my experience. I hears that IYC will be having a Festival just like last July next year, maybe you can apply to join the commitees and meet the awesome people inside it :D

Talent-less

Suddenly i have this big question mark on my brain: What is my talent?

I mean, i really really don't have any talent that i can show to many people. So, if i have to perform on a talent show i think i would just stood there and do nothing. Is being people person a talent? Seriously dude i do not have any talent! I can't draw, can't play music, i'm not super smart kid who can solve some mathematics formula in seconds, i can't sing, i can't dance. Shiznit, i'm hopeless.

Dear god, WHAT THE HECK IS MY TALENT?

18 18 18 18

So guys i just turned 18 yesterday, don't know if i should be happy or sad because now i'm getting older.... There's always positive and negative about everything right? So i guess i just have to accept that now i'm 18 and yeah i should be more mature -____-"

Enough about that. What i'm going to write is a about my fantastic birthday. No i don't have a fancy birthday party in 5 star hotel or a hip cafe in Jakarta. But i have 4 surprises from my friends and loved ones! Yes 4! I couldn't believe it myself, because well i have never had so many surprises before so it kind of shocked me.

The first one was from my IYC mates and my boyfriend as well. They convinved me that my bf got in a motor cycle accident when he was on his way to my house as he promised before to have a birthday countdown with me. Until 12 o' clock he didin't show up, so i became worried but somehow i feel a little bit pissed because he didn't call me or text me to say happy birthday. Then around 1-ish Adam PING! me and told me that Omar was in RS Fatmawati hospital, yeah i panicked but somehow i have a feeling that he tricked me but eventually he could convinced me and yes i cried. Then, around 2 o' clock Adam pick me up and told me that we have to rush to visit Omar at the hospital, so in the middle of the night i went out and then i saw Omar's car.......... Then everybody sang 'Happy Birthday' and so i chase Adam down the street, yes i literally want to smack him in the face! Omar made me a homemade brownies and they also brang 2 boxes of martabak hahahhaa. Well, that was a GREAT surprise thaaaank you :")

Moving on to the second surprise, it was from my sister and my mom's house assitant. They wake me up around 8 and started yelling crazy things that i don't exactly remember and suddenly they sang "Happy Birthday" and then gave me 2 presents. One from my sister and one from my mother (my mother is still on her way to Jakarta at the moment). So then i blew the candles and started to open the presents. Present #1 an underwater 35mm camera from my sister, I LOVE IT SO MUCHO! Present #2 A blue Dell laptop that i really like :D yaaaaayyy thank thank youuu!

Okay 3rd surprise, it was from my High School friends whom i really really love! So, here's the story: I actually plan some little birthday celebration or my friends in the evening but suddenly Diandra and Mita came to my room around 4 o' clock they said thay have to come earlier because Diandra's driver have to go home. So far i believe everything they said, but then they started to make me go downstair like Mita wanted to have drink but i gave her the drink upstair, then she wanted to borrow a dvd but the dvd itself is in my room HAHA! Then Diandra made up some excuses that she was really hungry and ask me to go downstair and have something to eat. So i went downstair with my shortpants and an oversized t-shirt, suddenly all of my friends came out and start singing, triple strike for today! Dang it! Thank you guyyyss it was lovely :')

Finally last surprise, it was from my mom this surprise made me speechless and so everybody because well it was.... BIG! The scenario is suddenly my house went blackout but the others houses is not. I wasn't suspicious at all,
but then my mom told that i have to to the garage and then an engine started roaring from outside. SHIT! I GOT A CAR! Damn it mom you don't have to do that, i mean i have enough for today huhuhu i was so happy i don't even made a sound i just stood there and smiled widely and don't know what to say. :''''''D

Well, there you go my 4 birthday surprises. Still in shock until now, i'm truly grateful that i have surround myself with such a great people. I love you guys so much and thank you for making yesterday my best birthday EVER!

This is your moment no hesitations

It's world cup timee!! I take it pretty seriously because well as you all know i'm a big football enthusiast. There's just something about World Cup, the euphoria is amaaaziing, people all over the world are celebrating either you love football or not. People gather around to watch the match, the more the merrier.

This year i'll be supporting Germany and Brazil as usual. I love both of that country and 2 of them represents 2 different football styles. Maybe i'm not a footbal pro but i think Brazil play a more beutiful football meanwhile Germany are more tactical (this is just some random amateur football comment though). I'm pretty much excited about it and i have been waiting for this day to come. It's going to be an amazing month i can tell :D

Tonight Germany will play Australia, this is their first match in WC. Well it's not until 01:30 am in my country though but i'm prepared and ready to watch it, yeaaah! My favorite player from Germany are Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski both of them are a young and talented German players. Unfortunately their captain, Michael Ballack (i like him too!) can't be with them throughout WC because he was injured during FA Cup final with Chelsea FC. This is so saaad i'm actually expecting him to lead Germany :'( But i quickly wipe out my tears because Philip Lahm has appointed as the Captain throughout WC, yippiekayeaaay! He's actually the youngest German captain :D

I hope Germany or Brazil will win WC, it's so exciting to see the team you're rooting for, win the competition. It's like you can feel their hapiness too and if they lost you will feel the heartbreaking emptiness inside your soul. All i can say is may the best team win! And don't forget to PLAY FAIR!
Well people let's enjoy this month of celebration! :D

Cheers,
d
